The 4 things I MUST have on my desk and the 1 thing I CAN’T
CONSISTENCY
My word of the year was Consistency. And I think I’m going to recycle that same word and use it again for 2021… but not just to be “consistent”. See what I did there? (I’ll be here all day, folks!)
One of the things I STRUGGLE with in my business (and life) is sticking to goals/plans I set for myself. And one of the things I’ve been working on the second half of this year is changing some daily routines (in business and life) and being CONSISTENT with it.
One way I’m doing this is by only keeping the necessities on my desk.
So that brings me to today’s very short post:
The 4 things I MUST have on my desk and the 1 thing I absolutely CAN’T!
My computer (duh)
My planer (to remind me of what all I’ve got going on that day) and a brain dump journal.
My Powersheets (to help me keep track of my short term and long range goals for business, life, health, etc.)
A BIG A$$ glass of water (I try to drink at least 96 oz water each day - that’s 3x my huge cup)
And the one thing I ABSOLUTELY (under no circumstances) CAN NOT have on my desk - my phone. I get SO easily distracted and will go pick up my phone to look at something and 90 minutes will pass with me mindlessly scrolling… reading the news, checking Instagram, shopping on Amazon, looking at birthdays on Facebook, etc.
SO I start each work day by setting myself up for success andI put my phone on the shelf UNDER my desk. Yeah I will still pick it up from time-to-time, but it’s not visible and front-and-center… so it’s not that big of distraction!
Q:
What do you do to stay focused during the work day?
Q:
How do you keep from endlessly scrolling?
